Dr. Salman Ali Ghareeb is a renowned Consultant Family Physician in the Kingdom. He studied and practised medicine in erstwhile Soviet Union. He has over 30 years experience in his realm. He has been working with Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Centre as a Medical Director and Consultant Family Physician since 2017.

After completing his Diploma in Medicine in the prestigious Leningrad Medical School (now Saint Petersburg) in 1986 he practiced there as general physician. He later got admission for Doctor of Medicine (DM) at the world famous medical college, The Institute of Medicine and Hygiene of Leningrad (now North Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov) in 1986. He further studied in Family Physician Residency Program (FPRP) and received Board Certificate in Family Practice recognised by The Irish Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, Irish college of general Practitioners & Ministry of health (RCSI, ICGP, MOH) in the year 1997.

He worked as physician in Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom for 10 years. He has also worked as Medical Registrar in the office of Licensure and Registration, Ministry of Health. During that time he was a member of licensing committee he handled licensing of the medical institutions (Hospitals, Medical Centres, Clinics) and medical doctors and the misconducts against professionals and complaints and court cases. At last he was assigned only for court cases raised against medical professionals. Then when licensing office converted to NHRA he worked in NHRA until he retired in January 2012. He continued working in the private sector.

He has been working with private sector since 2012. Prior to joining Shifa, he worked as a consultant family physician in IBN Nafees Hospital, Al-Amal Hospital and IMC Hospital.
