Dr. Abdulla Askar Babu is a seasoned General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 12 years of clinical experience. He obtained his MBBS from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and an MS in Surgery from SBKS Medical Institute & Research Centre, Vadodara, India.
Dr. Askar 's expertise extends to minimally invasive surgery, with a fellowship in this field and specialized training in Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy from the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, UK. He has also undergone training in Minimally Invasive Proctology.
Prior to joining our team, Dr. Askar served as a Specialist General and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Bahrain Defense Force Hospital, Riffa, Abeer Medical Group in Makkah, KSA, and Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala. This is his second time with Shifa Al Jazeera. Before he moved to BDF, he also worked here between 2019 and 2021, when we were a medical centre.
He is a prolific researcher, with numerous national and international publications to his credit. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the best paper of the state in 2010 and 2nd position at the National conference of the Association of Surgeons of India in 2011.
Dr. Askar is a member of several professional organizations, including the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, Indian Medical Association, Association of Surgeons of India, and Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India. He is registered with both the Indian Medical Council and the Saudi Council of Health Specialities.
Dr. Askar's expertise encompasses a wide range of surgical conditions, both laparoscopic and open procedures, and he is particularly skilled in minimally invasive Proctology.
